Funkafizing out of San Francisco since 2001, “Kiss My Brass” (KMB) is a truly unique nine piece party/dance band that pays homage to the great horn bands of the 70’s, including: Tower of Power, Earth, Wind & Fire, Blood Sweat and Tears, Chicago, Chase and more, as well as their own originals.

Our mission--DON'T GIVE UP THE FUNK, keep em dancing!!!

KMB is comprised of members of long time staple bands of the San Francisco music scene, including: The New Morty Show, Undercover SKA, Divalicious, Tom Jonesing, Superbooty, The Fancy Sinatras and more. In addition, the members have toured with several national acts: swing band The New Morty Show, blues great Earl Hooker, Peter Frampton, jazz greats Freddie Hubbard and The Cab Calloway Big Band. KMB’s instrumentation consists of: Keyboard, Bass, Drums, Guitar, 2 Trumpets, 2 Trombones, and a lead vocalist. Four of the band members also sing lead and backup. “Kiss My Brass” is:

The band has had overwhelming response from shows that have included: San Francisco’s classic night spot Bimbo’s 365 Club,The BaBinga Room at the Eldorado Casino in Reno, the Main Showroom at Feathfalls Casino, Montage Resort and Spa Laguna Beach, Solano County Fair, The Haight Street Fair, Napa County Fair, Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Fest, Half Moon Bay Crab Fest, SF Wine and Crab Fest, Café DuNord, The Paradise Lounge, Tongue & Groove, Last Day Saloon, Red Devil Lounge, etc. KMB is the only band out there playing all your favorite funk, soul, rock, disco and jazz tunes of the 70’s. Their musicianship and showmanship is amazing! The band refines and puts the KMB twist on these great songs by having fantastic vocals and a well seasoned “turbo powered” horn section, and a rhythm section that is tighter than a fine tuned locomotive. They can go from getting an audience up and dancing and grooving to Tower of Power’s funky hits "Soul Vaccination" and “What Is Hip”, to mesmerizing them with the monstrous Earth Wind and Fire classics “In The Stone” and “Lets Groove”; then, get the crowd reminiscing to the sweet sound of Chicago’s “Saturday In The Park” or the BS&T great "God Bless The Child" without batting an eye!! And for the topper, the band will give ‘em some of their own high energy originals that make you want to get up and boogie till ya drop.

So, for a night of great music and entertainment that will rock the house, keep the crowd partying, and add a touch of class to the joint, “Kiss My Brass” is your band.
